Let me introduce you to Lucy (she was called Cake). Lucy is the female name for Lusius in the Irish meaning "light" and her light is in her eyes. Lucy is a wheaten terrier who was recently released from a puppy mill.
Lucy is a very smart little dog but still very scared. She has that look in her eyes. The one that says "I want to be a part of the pack and do everything they are doing, but I don't know how and I don't know the rules. Oh and don't touch me."
She has come a long ways, but still has a long ways to go. Lucy wants to know where her humans [foster parents] are, but she does not want to get close. She still freezes when touched, like she is waiting for the pain. She will learn-no pain here and how to be a real dog.
