July 16, 2012 - My name is Georgia/Georgie. I love this new name so much that I come running every time I hear it. Being in a real home has been wonderful. It’s so much better than the puppy mill where I used to live. There are kids here that love me and other dogs that are teaching me how to be a dog – not as easy as you think after living your life in a cage.
I recently had a much-needed dental checkup and only lost two teeth. I also was spayed and had a small mammary mass removed. My foster mom is amazed at how quickly I bounced back. We just received great news that the mass was benign, so health is officially great and I am patiently waiting for my forever family.
The mill where I came from said I am eight years old, but everyone that has met me says I have to be much younger. I act like an excited puppy, jumping up and down and smiling when my foster family comes home. My FM (foster mom) says that my tail wags a-mile-a-minute, whatever that means :)
I am working on my potty training really hard. I go outside with the other dogs and use a piddle pad when I am inside. I still have accidents but FM says that is to be expected and that I will get the hang of it soon. I have gone on a couple of walks with my harness and leash. I am a little uncomfortable on walks because of all the new noises, but I am going to keep trying because it looks like such fun.
FM is going to continue updating my progress so I hope you check back often. It would be fantastic if that special person/family sees my picture and reads all about me, and then fills out an application to adopt me. As much as I love my foster family, I really can’t wait to meet my forever family. Look for new pictures too! * GEORGIA*
