Mr. Honey Bunney
Once upon a time there was a golden Cocker Spaniel Puppy. He was soft and fluffy and happy and bouncy and looked like a golden ray of sunshine that was dropped to earth and given legs and a smile. He soon went to live in the land of love, where pets were many and care was wonderful. But as this bouncing ray of sunshine turned into an adult ray of sunshine he was moved to the land of neglect. Why, we do not know. But there in the land of neglect he watched the seasons come and go, rain turned to snow and back to rain again..many times. No hands came to pet him and no one cared except to throw food at him. Tumors grew on his little golden body and hurt the little doggie ray of sunshine..but no one came to help. Then one day hands came and lifted him up, finally he thought..someone cares. But what happened next was beyond even this little doggies worst nightmare. He was placed in the road for a car to hit. You see he could not escape as his hair had entwined his golden body and was a cast that imprisoned him. They meant to kill him. BUT a good lady that saw the beautiful ray of sunshine doggie laying in the road, rescued him and brought him to the vets. There a vet tech named Camille contacted Casey and Bryant and they called me and I called Debbie of JATR and soon the Golden Ray of sunshine doggie was home and back in the land of love. He was old and blind , deaf and sick but he knew he was loved and cared for. He was once again a happy little sunbeam. Sadly our little Golden sunshine doggie named Mr Honey Bunny has raced on ahead to the Rainbow Bridge. His health issues were to much. I had promised him he would never suffer again and today I had to make good on that promise. It has broken my heart as he was the most loving and gentle dog I have ever known. I am thankful I do not know who put this gentle creature in the land of neglect and then in the road as I would be in jail tonight as my rage at the injustice of it all is to much. I will try and take a lesson from Mr Honey Bunny and be kinder and more gentle..somehow I am not sure I will succeed. He is so much better than I am. Fly free my little love, see and hear and race all over till we meet again. All my love and tears "Mama" Eileen and your JATR family -- Eileen Franco Speak out for the voiceless . Miss Shortcake Story
My sweet beautiful Miss Shortcake. Rescued from a shelter in Mississippi in June 2009 Passed away from cancer in November 2009 Little one you were taken from me too soon... I miss you. Teri

Molly

02/05/11

Miss Molly was a tiny senior Maltese/Poodle. She was pulled from a Michigan shelter in October of 2008. You could actually see the fleas crawling on her skin and she had very little fur left. Deaf and blind, she was brought to the shelter by her owner and left to die.

The control officer offered her to a rescue worker saying "she is free if you want her". Molly was brought out of the kennel with a towel wrapped around her as no one wanted to touch her due to the dirt and fleas.  A sad sight for a then 14 year old castaway.

After being rid of the fleas and cleaned up, a beautiful little senior lady appeared. Miss Molly showed her spunk, by learning her new surroundings within a day. Molly never complained and was the most loving little lady ever.

An abdominal mass was detected in 2009 and Molly was given a dismal chance of survival. A year later, this little survivor continued to thrive. She loved to eat, sleep on her Foster Mom's pillow at night and spend her days being held. Molly showed the true fight to live, in spite of all of the bad cards she was dealt.

Molly was a "forever foster" with Just A Touch Rescue, and she is now pain free and whole.  Fly free, little one.

Sherman Fahrenholtz
Sherman was a senior yorkie that was found buried in a snow bank in one of Boston's worst blizzards. Sherman had cushings disease and a brain tumor. But that did not stop him from being an absolute lovable, wonderful friend. Sherman was only with us for a short time - but he enriched our lives so much.

Saoirse Rose Fahrenholtz
Saoirse Rose (her name means “freedom” in Gaelic). Rosie was rescued at the age of 11 years from one of the largest puppy mills in the country. Rosie had chronic hepatitis, which she more than likely passed along to at least some of the hundreds of puppies she had while in the commercial kennels. But she was a survivor. Sweet, and gentle, and funny, Rosie lit up a room with her zest for life. Her absolute favorite thing to do was to run in the grass. She really could fly on grass...I miss you Rosie Posie....
